Naruto chapter 639 spoiler alert!!!

The Obijubi is continuing his assault and is pushing the Hokage 4 to the brink of their limit while the ninja world watches in horror.

So this chapter of the manga has answered quite a few questions that fans have been thinking of - one of them being Sasuke and Naruto's potential fight, if Madara will fight Hashirama, the limits of the edo tensei and obito's powers.

This chapter has been nothing but action packed from start to finish; I enjoyed reading it. Kishimoto has written and drawn this chapter very well. In fact, the art work still stands since the last two chapters. It's fast paced, filling every panel with tension.
First I'll start with the content: Naruto's character takes a seat in the back to allow the Hokage's to show off what exactly it is they could do. Minato and the rest are easily blown away, we also find out that Minato has a "jump" technique which is probably just flying thunder god in a variation. We also discover that the Jubi can utilize multiple natures at one time like an advanced kekkei genkai. In fact, the third says that it exceeds anything like a genkai. We see him forming and manipulating dark coloured chakra to cease and assault the ninja force. The Jubi is RAW jutsu.

I noticed one thing about the unique nature of Obijubi, due to the third pointing out, he can mold chakra like Oonoki..this is important, because that means he could potentially be able to mold any form of chakra. He even used a body expansion-like jutsu then divided himself once he touched the ground.

Naruto and Sasuke have a small moment, with Sasuke confirming in his heart that he won't allow Obijubi to kill Naruto..because he wants to have that honour; Sasuke's still a man of his word. Also, to parallel Sasuke's intentions, Madara also confronts Hashirama, we don't know what will happen next.

One complaint I did have with the chapter, though, is the stupidity of the ninja alliance. If you see your strongest fighters FAILING to stop a monster, you do not try to assist in furthering your own destruction, especially if you do not have an edo tensei body. Also Naruto's whining - he wasn't like that before Sasuke came..I don't see why he's acting like this now, seeing as he's been holding off Obito before.

The art: It was fine tuned to fit this action packed chapter. It felt rushed at certain points, such as Obijubi expanding his body and such, but it was good. Kishimoto is also pretty heavy with his inking this run, but it's probably the result of the scanners. A more thinner, refined pen tool would be preferable. The moments where Kishimoto gets lazy with his art is small. Kishimoto is still the master of semi-realistic dramatic facial expressions.

Pacing: Pacing was very fast, the panels were arranged in a comprehendible manner. I had no trouble following the action at all.

Text: It is still up to the subbers to make sure that the manga is understandable to the average, non-Japanese speaking manga layman. However, there were some language that was a little awkward such as a quote by Gamakichi, " the slips summon other slips", it could have been the tags multiply. Other than that, it's legible.

I award this manga with a 9/10. What do you think?
